From 1992 through 1998 I worked for an architecture department in an art school. As I wandered the halls and peered into classrooms, what I found interesting was the residue of information found on the chalkboards. Whether it was the smear of white chalk or partial numbers or letters remaining there was an ability to perceive a physical impression of a code of a lesson. I photograph seven chalkboards in different classrooms as this would represent one for each day of the week.
The images were initially printed as c-prints however, I found the ink of inkjet prints to simulate the flatness of chalk. The colors are saturated to enhance the thought of water or the sea.
